Our Next Step Is Happening Now

In an article I wrote last October, called “25 Years, One Job,” I derived my next two professional goals:

1. Harvest what we’ve sown.
2. Make a lasting mark upon the world.

Writing that article made it clear that I needed to pivot. My small company wasn’t likely to help me accomplish either goal.

So, with encouragement from my family and my only employee, Jeff Holt, I decided that the best way to optimize our situation would be for Jeff and me to re-join Oracle Corporation.

We’re delighted with how the plan has turned out. Our first day back at Oracle was Monday, April 8, 2024. Jeff is in Kris Rice’s group, and I’m working for Jenny Tsai-Smith.

Tuesday Zoom

I will continue the Tuesday Zoom tradition from within Oracle.

Each Tuesday at 10:30am CDT (3:30pm UTC), I host a weekly Zoom call where a small group of IT professionals spend 25 minutes discussing how to make life better for ourselves and the people we serve. You’re welcome to join us.

This week, our friend Toon Koppelaars will join us for a second consecutive week, so we can continue the lively conversation about connection pooling that we started last week.
